TKT & Associates Wins National Minority Supplier Award
TKT & Associates, Inc. of Louisville, Kentucky, was recently named a 2011 Regional Minority Supplier of
the Year by the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (NMSDC). Award winners were
honored during the NMSDC Conference and Business Opportunity Fair in early November.
NMSDC selects 16 minority-certified companies each year to receive these top awards—given in four
categories based on annual sales—from nominees submitted by NMSDC regional councils across
the nation. Each Regional Minority Supplier of the Year winner had been nominated by a corporate
customer, and then evaluated on their business growth, development and performance, community
service and the ability to overcome challenges.
"NMSDC-certified suppliers bring added value to the corporate supply chain," said NMSDC President
Joset Wright. "This year's regional suppliers of the year represent the best companies among our 16,000
certified minority-owned businesses. They are dedicated to delivering great products and quality service
to their corporate customers, and NMSDC is proud to honor them."
TKT & Associates, Inc. provides multi-dimensional consultation and leadership in supplier and workforce
diversity management, specialized staffing services and small business growth programs. In addition
to their major corporate customers, TKT & Associates also partners with public agencies to provide
consulting to minority-owned, disadvantaged and women-owned businesses seeking public contracts.
“We are thrilled to be named one of NMSDC’s 2011 Regional Suppliers of the Year,” said Tierra
Kavanaugh Turner, CEO and founder of TKT & Associates, Inc. “Our company has grown steadily since
we started in 2006. We appreciate the continued support of our clients and partners as we work
together to elevate the level of economic diversity in our region.”
Tierra Kavanagh Turner and members of her staff often volunteer time outside the office to speak
about diversity and inclusion at public meetings, workshops and seminars held by business associations,
chambers of commerce and other groups. They work with other minority-owned businesses to advance
advocacy issues and also offer discounted rates for certified MBEs to participate in the Fast-Trac® small
business development program offered through their offices in Louisville and Lexington.
