Dorothy Abernathy, Office Administrator, brings to TKT & Associates over 40 years of experience in office management, accounting and newspaper publishing. She retired in 2005 from Landmark Community Newspapers in Shelbyville, KY, after 34 years of employment.  Her roles consisted of Office Manager of The Lebanon Enterprise in Marion County, KY; Accounting Clerk at Corporate Office in Shelbyville, KY; Office Manager of The Oldham Era in La Grange, KY. She was promoted to Publisher of The Oldham Era and served in that capacity for 25 years. She also was Publisher of The Trimble Banner in Bedford, KY for 10 years. She was a member of the Advertising Team at Corporate Office for two years before her retirement. Before employment with Landmark, she worked for University

of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service in Quicksand, KY and Producers, Inc. and WTVW - Channel 7 in Evansville, IN.

 

She is a member of The Kentucky Press Association where she served as president in 1995. She was active in forming The Kentucky Press Association Ad Division serving as chairperson in 1986.  She also was a member of the Board of Directors for a number of years.

 

Her community involvement included serving on the Vocational Education Regional Advisory Committee; Board of Directors of Oldham County Chamber of Commerce; Advisory Committee of the Oldham County Chapter of United Way; Advisory Committee of the Oldham County Chapter of the American Red Cross; Board member of the Oldham County Educational Foundation and a member of the La Grange Rotary Club.

 

She is a native of Ft. Branch, IN, but has resided in Kentucky since 1968.
